Holy Family Catholic Parish Primary School
Ingleburn NSW
SCOPE
Holy Family Catholic Parish Primary School is a large primary school based in Ingleburn, near the suburb of Liverpool in NSW. The school caters from Kindergarten to Year 6, comprising reception, administration buildings, classrooms, library, toilets, carparks and ovals.
An initial lighting audit was conducted by our staff throughout the whole school and an LED lighting solution was provided for all the various locations.
We installed our architectural LED slimline surface mount batten lights throughout the administration and library buildings to improve on light levels and save on energy consumption. Classrooms had suspended trunking fluorescent tubes which we replaced and retro-fitted with our slimline LED 18 watt and 40 watt batten lights.
The classrooms were specified with 5000K daylight lamp colour temperature which provides a crisp clean natural light and as recommended by University studies to assist with the reduction of circadian rhythm problems associated with lower colour temperatures and fluorescent lamps.
Research has now shown that higher colour temperatures in the education environment have positive effects on concentration levels and oral reading fluency (ORF).
A total of 877 energy consuming fluorescent lamps were replaced throughout the school.
