The Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE contracted Eo Lighting to supply and install energy efficient LED lighting throughout their Northern Beaches Campus in Brookvale, NSW. The aim was to reduce their energy costs and reduce their carbon footprint in response to the Government’s green policy initiatives.
All lamps in the campus classrooms, common areas and car parks were replaced or upgraded with Eo Lighting LED lamps and fittings. The classrooms were specified with 6000K daylight lamp colour temperature which provides a crisp clean natural light and as recommended by University studies to assist with the reduction of circadian rhythm problems associated with lower colour temperatures and fluorescent lamps.
Research has now shown that higher colour temperatures in the education environment have positive effects on concentration levels and oral reading fluency (ORF).
Over 4,500 existing lights were replaced throughout the campus.
