SCOPE

HealthShare NSW manages the supply of linen to NSW hospitals, providing over 40,000 tonnes of sheets, blankets, towels and surgical gowns each year, making it the largest single supplier of linen to health services in Australia.

Working with JR Turks, Eo Lighting conducted an extensive light audit at the Linen Service site located in North Parramatta and provided a detailed analysis of potential energy savings and several recommendations for lighting solutions.

The project was implemented over 10 stages to co-ordinate with HealthShare’s business operations.  The site runs 6 days a week with 2 shifts running per day. Consideration was given to the age of the building (previously part of the Parramatta Jail complex) as there were numerous challenges involving extremely difficult access to existing lights and to work around a very tight production schedule.

Eo Lighting replaced the old 250w metal halide floodlights with our EO-FLW-50w LED flood lights, and replaced over 1600 x 36w and 56w fluorescent T8 tubes with EO-WP1200 18w LED weatherproof fittings.

All of the old lamps were removed from site for environmental disposal / recycle.

A total of 1,641 x existing lights were removed and 870 x LED lights were installed over the site.

RESULTS

The new energy saving lighting from Eo Lighting has improved light levels and quality of light throughout the facility as well as saving on regular maintenance cost due to the lifetime longevity of the LED lighting.
